2018 Short Term On-Campus Housing Application Site

Thank you for your interest in applying for short term accommodations at the University of Pennsylvania.This registration is for:

  • Non-Penn Students interning in the Philadelphia area
  • Non-Penn students interning or working at Penn
  • Summer conference or program attendees
  • Summer housing is available May 20 - August 11th 2018
  • You must be 18 years of age or older

Please note that there is a 3 night minimum and you will be staying in an air-conditioned multi-occupancy suite with a shared bathroom and living space and private bedrooms in a residence hall on campus. You will be housed with the same gender. Rooms feature an extra-long twin bed, desk and dresser per person for $52 + 15.5% occupancy tax per night. Linen is not included but can be purchased during this application for $105 + sales tax (long term linen pack for stays over 2 weeks) OR $55 + sales tax (short term linen pack, for stays under 2 weeks). A non-refundable $10.00 application fee plus your total accommodation charges will be charged at the time of application. We accept MasterCard, Visa and American Express. Note: payment must be received in full prior to living on campus. For Rare Book School attendees, registration and payment must be made by May 15th 2018, any applications or non-payments after this date are not guaranteed housing.

Occupancy Agreement
Submission of an application for summer housing implies agreement on your part with the terms specified in the Occupancy Agreement and Policies and Procedures in the Residential Handbook. Please read both documents carefully prior to completing this application. There is a link provided to access the Occupancy Agreement and Residential Handbook once you begin your registration.

Please note that the summer is considered a “Low Occupancy” period, much like Spring Break. No guest passes are issued. See the Residential Handbook for more details. There is a link provided to access the Residential Handbook once you begin your registration.

Sponsorship Letter In order to qualify for summer housing we will need a sponsorship letter from the company you are working/interning for in the Philadelphia area sent to us to confirm your internship. Example of this sponsorship letter can be found here.We cannot process your application until we have received your sponsorship letter. The sponsorship letter can be sent as an email attachment to bsd-confsvcs@pobox.upenn.edu  Rare Book School Attendees do not need to submit a sponsorship letter - Rare Book School Attendees should instead let their contact at the Rare Book School know that they have applied for housing at the University of Pennsylvania.

Summer Assignments
Summer room assignments are not released in advance; you will receive your summer assignment upon check-in. You will be sent an email 1 week prior to your arrival with your summer housing building address.

Cancellations and Reservation Adjustments
All cancellations and reservation adjustments must be made in writing to bsd-confsvcs@pobox.upenn.edu.

As stated in the Occupancy Agreement, the cancellation fees are as follows:

  • Cancellation 21 days or less prior to scheduled move-in date: $325.00
  • No show or cancel on scheduled move-in date: $500.00
  • For Rare Book School attendees, registration and payment must be made by May 15th 2018, any applications or non-payments after this date are not guaranteed housing.
